Summary
My skeleton almost jumped out of my skin and I scattered away from her. My eyes slid over her body; over the ocean shells placed over her breasts and her lack of legs. Instead of those, a purple-green-blue-ish color shifting tail sparkled in the sunlight.
Then my eyes fell on something moving on her neck. Gills. They rose and fell along with her breathing as she stared at me with wide and sad eyes, sparkle gone. Like she expected me to back away from her exactly like I did, and had lost the sliver of hope that I wouldn't because of it.
