Summary
They were, most of them, five-ish or six-ish when the ships came- different ships than usual. Not garbage ships or prison ships: they came for all of the villain kids. Mal and Uma and Jay and Harry and Gil and Carlos and Evie were set apart from the rest and taken to a facility called "Auradon Remedial Goodness Observational School for Uniquely Bad Children". There, the fairy was supposed to make them good.
(I experimented with a different style of prose for the first chapter.)
