Henry’s heart lurches painfully as he nods. “Yeah, of course,” he replies, his voice hoarse with the onslaught of emotion running through his body.
“And you said that kissing a boy helped you figure out who you are attracted to, right?”
This time Henry only hums in response, his heart beating so erratically, Alex must hear it.
“You absolutely can say no and I will never ever hold it against you because this is seriously not something friends do for each other, even if you are best friends, but –”
“Yes,” Henry interrupts him breathless before he feels himself blush hard. He clears his throat before he tries again. “I-I mean,” he stutters nervously, “you can, you know, kiss me. If it helps you figure things out.”
Or an AU in which Henry still hates New Year's, is desperately in love with Alex, and might finally get everything he ever wanted when his best friend asks him for help. They figure it out.

Alex scowls and runs a hand through his mussled hair. He’s already frustrated, the last thing he needs is to see that limp dick of a person. Fine. Whatever. Just a quick run downtown, not like it’s 40 minutes roundtrip or anything (which it absolutely is).
The subway’s packed, which is absolutely ridiculous for 2 in the afternoon, but it is and he’s sweaty and his clothes feel sticky and he aches all over. He just needs to get this over with and then he can get back to work and eventually, get home and take a nice long, hot shower.
He’s getting weird looks as he walks the 5 minutes from the station to Shrivastava’s - it’s probably due to the fact that he’s had a grand total of 3 hours of sleep and is currently thriving off fumes and caffeine.
Henry’s office is on the 18th floor and he’s getting more antsy as the elevator climbs. His body aches the same way it does when - no, that’s ridiculous; he still has another 2 weeks until his heat is supposed to hit. It can’t be...
