    Summary

“I’ll need at least a week to prepare the remedy. The Curesebreakers can scout for the beasts that are needed for ingredients. In the meantime,” Tarja cocked her head at Clive. “You take care of him.” As if Joshua would do anything else.

“Take care of me?” Clive groused. He leaned his arms back on the sickbed where he sat, pushing his tail aside when he accidentally sat his hand on it. “I feel fine.”

“Clive,” Tarja laughed flatly. “You’ve got fuzzy ears coming out of your head.”

this is such a fun roscest fic! perfect for some feel good vibes between them. as much as i love the emotional heavy hitters, i cannot deny that fluff just makes warm, cozy feelings bubble in the chest. need more wolf man clive in the world. i love the range vercure has with theming in their fic, must revisit this one when mood is low.

“Canine behavior, or such. Don’t try to fight it. Give in to your impulses, and let your brother pet you,” Joshua smiled.

Clive looked up to him, a losing battle in his eyes. “Give in to my impulses, hm?”

    Summary

The sun beats down upon him, a blue sky blankets the firmament, and Clive leans against fencing, trying not to make his eavesdropping so obvious.

"Do you think he bites?" A woman says in a hushed whisper, the subdued, airy tone of idle gossip. Clive can tell Joshua too has heard, his eyes flickering up from his book.

"Who, the hound?” The other woman leans in even closer, her cheeky tone electing a giggle from her companion. “Or the master?"

“Oh,” Joshua says, leaning in close to Clive, mischief on his tongue. “The master, most definitely.”

a lovely little snippet set in the rising tide dlc based on dialogue found within the village area. featuring a playful, somewhat shameless joshua teasing clive about his penchant for love bites. vercure perfectly captures the nuance of pride and mild embarrassment in clive's reactions.

Snow decorates Rosalith castle on a winter morning—to Joshua’s delight, and Clive’s indifference. He’d much rather stay in bed.

what a sweet little fic for the winter season. a short and simple, fluffy scene set before the night of flames. it is so cathartic to see the boys enjoying themselves, kids just getting to be kids. vercure's writing continues to be such a joy to read.

Clive jolts up, and whips his head around to see his brother sat on his bed, one arm full of snow and the other holding a handful, just slightly melted from Clive’s body heat.

“Joshua,” Clive rasps, voice full of betrayal.

    “You’re awake! Let’s go outside.”

    Summary

The maid smiles to herself as she approaches her lord’s chambers, the door slightly ajar, ready to see the pair most likely holding each other in sleep. So inseparable, they are. She had never seen two brothers so close.

She is just about to gently rap her knuckles at the door for entry, quietly, lest she wake them if they were asleep, when a soft sound stops her. There is a sigh, or perhaps a groan was more apt, maybe in pain—or not. Gentle words are spoken, too quiet to hear. A slick, shifting sound. Concerned, she peeks through the door.

outsider pov works so well for a ship so scandalous as clive/joshua, and it was a delight to see this fic set before the fall of phoenix gate. the praise kink is so good, especially when contrasted with the maid’s horror. very impressed that this is the creator’s first work.

“Shh,” Clive shushes to Joshua. “We wouldn’t want anyone to know.” Clive says, to her.

The maid can barely hear his words over the pounding of her blood in her ears, and yet the slick sound of the elder brother’s ministations ring clear as a bell.

    Summary

Joshua doesn’t like to be in the crypts. They are so different from the rest of the castle, from his home. They are dark, musty and suffocating, and make him feel even smaller than he is. Clive likes them even less—he would not enter them, even if Joshua asked. There were not many things Clive denied Joshua, but this was one. Perhaps he was afraid. Joshua can’t afford himself fear—this was to be his home, after all.

    Bookmarker's Notes

a very insightful look into young joshua’s mind as he comes to terms with being the dominant of the phoenix and all that it entails. the idea of there being a tomb with past leaders falling to the curse should have been in game. vercure does it once again with their musings, the characterization is simply lovely.

“That’s not what I wanted to show you.” Joshua turns, and gestures to his future home—to his tomb.

    “This one's for me.”
