Summary
Jinx.
He wonders what it says about him that the one who completes him isn’t Powder. Hunched over on the cold wood of his bedroom floor, Ekko clutches desperately at his wrist and stares blearily at the dark words marring his forearm. A wave of despair hits him the moment he realizes that even the fates know Powder is well and truly gone.
Gone.
That sweet smiling girl really isn’t coming back.
He thought he knew this already...

The name of a person’s soulmate appears somewhere on the skin the morning of that person’s nineteenth birthday. Be it romantic or platonic – a soulmate is said to be the single most influential person in that person's life – someone so intertwined with the very being of the other that they are considered two halves of the same whole. Ekko had never considered that the fates would be so cruel as to give him a name that was neither lover nor friend... the name of an enemy.
