Starrk blinked, eyebrows bunching together. He stared for long seconds before dropping his eyes to the board. “No one’s called me nice before.” The stones clacked softly on the board as they took turns until finally they both chose to pass, Jyuushiro silently counting territory only for Starrk to throw him for a loop. “You especially shouldn’t think I’m nice.”
“And why’s that?” he asked, frowning as he quickly recounted points.
“Right now I’m holding your life in my hands. I’m a cruel master trying to play house with toys I can’t hold properly in a thunderstorm.”
Jyuushiro flickered his gaze up. “Don’t be so dramatic,” he chided softly. “My life is my own and a claim doesn’t change that. If I so chose, I could take it out of your hands by walking out that door and up to First. You wouldn’t be able to stop me.”

His Arrancar were brought to Seireitei along with any prisoners from Las Noches and Fake Karakura Town. Each Espada took some of the fallen and while some masters are crueller than others, Jyuushiro and Shunsui know they still have a duty to their comrades and strive to help navigate an occupied Seireitei as best they can.Bookmarked by evilkat
