Summary
Remus has endured three years of his behavior. He’d be willing to accept it, deal with it, make peace with the idea of Sirius as a town asshole. Every town has one - they ride loud motorcycles in the middle of the night and spend one too many hours at the town's dive bar.
But Sirius isn’t an asshole, at least to anyone who isn’t named Remus. Sirius holds doors open for little old ladies, he volunteers at local organizations, he mows and rakes and weeds people's yards out of the goodness of his heart. He lives and bleeds for the town of Godric’s Hollow - knows everyone and their children by name and greets them as if they’ve been best friends for years.
Remus would call it performative if he hadn’t been witness to it many times, Sirius Black and his charm and his inability to resist helping someone.
The dick.

Summary
“And this is Remus,” Poppy says when she realizes that he is not about to pause his work without being asked to.
So Remus looks up.
And something just stops.
Sirius Black has a stupid name and long black hair and he is wearing a light gray button down that makes the gray of his eyes really stand out. High cheekbones and flush lips and long eyelashes makes him pretty in a highly androgynous way and Remus feels the need to clench his jaw tightly.
Remus may be petty, and he may be angry, but he was never one to be impolite so he stands up to shake the newbie's hand. It’s all long slim fingers that look porcelain in his scarred hand and it feels wrong.
The two of them are not supposed to hold hands, touch skin, exist in the same dimensional plane - that much is very clear to Remus who just says, “Remus. Welcome.”

Lily claps her hands on her knees and looks at him with a glint that tells Remus he should be afraid of what her brain came up with. He is, most of the time. Lily’s brain is a scary place. She seems completely harmless to the untrained eye, but Remus knows better.
“I think you should ask Sirius to pretend with you for the holidays.”
Remus frowns. “Pretend?” His mum thinks they’re dating. What are they pretending? Ask Sirius… And then it hits him. “Absolutely not.”Remus accidentally tells his mum he's dating his best friend. To avoid the utter mortification of telling her he accidentally lied, he asks said best friend to pretend to be his boyfriend for the holidays.
Sirius, the best friend in question, is not used to thinking before opening his mouth. He says yes.Series
