Summary
Feng Xin doesn’t let his eyes leave the tank for even a moment as Hua Cheng beckons Xie Lian up to the glass separating them from one another. He taps a sharp nail against it, right in front of the poor creature’s face, and startles him terribly. His face splits around a hungry grin and he curls his finger until Xie Lian comes closer again, a twitchy smile pulling at his lips.
Feng Xin raps his knuckles firmly against the observation screen, but Xie Lian jumps harder at it than he had at Hua Cheng, who hardly appears to notice it. He turns his head slowly towards Feng Xin, raising a single brow, and flashes his teeth in a familiar growl.
“Leave him alone, Hua Cheng! I’m not kidding!”
(Xie Lian is going to be eaten by that fucker Hua Cheng, he's almost certain of it.)

The ghost bows his head further. His shoulders sink slightly, less slumping and more settling into himself. It's like he likes the dehumanizing name.
He says, "'Wu Ming' is perfect."
Xie Lian's frown deepens. He tells him, "Pick a different one soon."

After Xie Lian is tortured in his own temple, he wakes up in the care of a freshly-formed wrath ghost. "Wu Ming" follows him home and, with his carpentry experience, medical knowledge, street smarts, and fighting skills, makes himself indispensable to Xie Lian's family.
To protect Xie Lian from Bai Wuxiang, Wu Ming swears that he'll do whatever he must to get stronger, all the while becoming one more person that Xie Lian couldn't bear to lose.

Summary
The Kingdom of Xianle was a small but beautiful kingdom, tucked between the kingdoms of Yong'an and Guicheng. Unlike their neighbors, who boasted great military power, they were instead known for their beauty and magical divinity. Led by a just king and queen, their lives were quiet and prosperous.

He had no idea what tragedy the man in a white mask would bring; how ruthless and cruel the soldiers of Yong'an could be; and how quick the people of Xianle, his people, would turn on him
Under a sky burning red with fire, filled with screams of terror and the scent of death, Xie Lian finds himself running for his life as his entire world burns to the ground.
It only takes 10 days for the kingdom of Xianle to fall.
