it’s cold water for fresh. baking soda for old. his search engine must think he’s a teenage girl. fresh blood’s an easy stench to remove, death is not so kind nor so keen to let go. old blood soaks into things, leaves a murky ring and a foul smell. it could be the same paranoia that leads him to check his clothes thrice before leaving the house. rot trails him like a bit of toilet paper to his shoe.
