Yoongi doesn’t talk much, but he listens. Listens to how Jeongguk rambles over his song, words tripping over themselves to build a clumsy description of what he wants it to be, how he wants it to sound like, who he wants it to reach.
His eyes are sharp, attentive, and for once Jeongguk doesn’t shrink under his gaze一revels in it, actually. It makes him feel like he’s worth this much, at least, worth listening to when his manager turns away and the producers laugh behind their hands. Makes him feel like he’s worth more than just this一a lonely singer performing through other peoples’ words and other peoples’ melodies and trying to make them his own when he knows they never will be.
“Thank you,” Jeongguk says, when he’s done, and Yoongi raises an eyebrow in vague curiosity.
“I didn’t do anything.” he says, simply.
“No,” Jeongguk smiles, such a small curve that aches to say so much more, “but you listened.”

Summary
Yoongi slaps his left cheek lightly, not enough to hurt but just enough to make Jungkook’s haze shift slightly into focus. He’s half collapsed on the floor, and has no idea when he’d sat down here.
“Sweetheart, I’m going to carry you into Namjoon’s office.” Yoongi is on his knees between Jungkook’s legs, kneeling on the rough carpet that smells like shake-n-vac.
When he leans further into Jungkook’s space, he can’t help but think that Yoongi is so small and delicate for an alpha. He can’t possibly carry someone like Jungkook, who is long limbed and athletic, built like a swimmer. But Yoongi lifts Jungkook like he’s made of marshmallow, stretching from his hunkers to a full stand without so much as a groan.
