Niko is scared. Not just today, but most days since she became infected by a flower and made three chaotic new friends. Today was really scary, though, because Crystal almost walked into the ocean to drown. Which goes in Niko’s top-five list of things she never wanted to see.
Niko is also confused most days, but today in particular because she is so relieved Crystal is okay that it makes Niko want to give her friend a big girl-love kiss right on her perfect lips.

Charles is also confused. He is not confused most days, because most days he know pretty much exactly what he wants. He wants Crystal, that much is clear. But after Edwin’s encounter with a certain member of feline royalty he is feeling something unexpected. It feels like jealousy.

In which Niko is best friends with Edwin and Charles, but wants to kiss Crystal. Charles is best friends with Niko and Edwin but wants to snog Crystal and maybe Edwin a bit as well.
Edwin is literally drowning in cute boys that want to kiss him.
And Edwin and Crystal must learn to get along for the sake of their coven’s burgeoning polycute romance.

Harry attempts not to freeze. He continues to pretend to read his notes and tries to avoid gritting his teeth. “I don’t know what you mean.”
Regulus only hums. “I may not know him well, but I do believe he’d view the action as unseemly.” His lips upturn. “Like a Gryffindor.”

He looks down at the blood on his hands and on the floor and wonders why the memory hasn’t broken yet, why he isn’t back in Starcourt mall with control of his body again, wonders if he's even still alive at all. Is this hell then? Or perhaps purgatory? It certainly isn’t heaven, that’s for sure. None of this makes any sense…but then what's new—nothing in Billy’s life makes sense anymore.
Billy laughs then, loud and long and unhinged. It's the only sound in the whole house, and it bounces off the walls like a fucked up echo, like the world is laughing with him.
“Jesus christ you’re insane…” It’s Max’s voice and it’s shaking. It only makes Billy laugh harder, because Max has it all wrong. Billy isn’t crazy, it’s the rest of the world that’s insane.

Billy dies a hero of sorts. He wakes up back in his bed on Saturday morning, the third of November, 1984...nearly nine months earlier.
