Summary
Shiro has been hiding the fact that he was Spider-Man since he was fifteen. Now, after years of balancing his regular life and superhero duties, he feels like he’s finally got a rhythm with his steady job at the Daily Bugle and the office romance he thought he could never have coming to life. Unfortunately for him, Lance is too sharp, and since Lance is the only reporter Spidey trusts enough to meet and give statements to, Shiro finds himself in a complicated web of lying to his new boyfriend and trying to deal with the people he once saw as friends suddenly turning on him. He’s not sure he’ll make it out of this one with his secret identity or his life intact.
Lance, irreparably heartbroken and constantly working, is desperate to try and find a way to get his hopeless crush to notice him. It’s not until he notices his longtime friend and co-worker as a romantic interest that he realizes he had his crush’s attention all along. He might have figured out that Shiro and Spidey were the same person, but now Lance has to navigate helping them both so he doesn’t lose the person he’s so desperately wanted without realizing it. Too bad some of Spidey’s enemies have set their sights on Lance instead.

In the decade since Allura's sacrifice, Shiro'd fallen in love, gotten married, retired, had issues, sought therapy, separated, filed for divorce and moved on. Filed for divorce but never finalized it. He and Curtis got along fine. He stayed in the house, Curtis lived on base. It worked until it didn't. There was no rush to sign anything. In order to finalize the divorce, they had to sell the house. Shiro found a new house. No problem. Except, he has to be out of the old house 2 weeks before he can move into the new one.
Veronica and Keith had the same idea- He could use a bit of sun. Lance would love the company- which was how Shiro ended up in Cuba. He was looking forward to the first real vacation he'd had in years! He'd heard so much about Lance's beach house and it would be great to hang out with his old friend & catch up on everything that he'd been up to in the last few years.
The years in Cuba had been very good to Lance and the skinny kid he'd gone to space with was a full-grown, very impressive man, now. Time and distance gave him a new perspective and he started to understand just how well matched he and Lance might be. Was it too much to hope that Lance might be seeing him with fresh eyes, too?

“Hey Lance,” she said easily, stepping into his room and Lance frowned as he watched her. “Hunk and I managed to hook up a movie player, so we’re gonna all watch some old Altean movies and have a sleep over,” she said. That wasn’t an invitation, she just said it like she assumed Lance would come with her. Of course he would. Why wouldn’t he?
But why would they want him there? He’d probably just end up talking through the movie and snoring all night anyway, and they’d wish they never invited him. They were probably only inviting him to be polite, anyway; in case his feelings got hurt when he found out the next day that they’d done that without him.
“I uh, I’m not actually feeling too great,” he said with an apologetic smile. “I think I’m gonna have to pass and just get an early night, instead. Next time?” He could just save them the trouble. He didn’t want to go and they didn’t want him there.
