At the New Year's Party in Valorant Protocol HQ, Cypher notices Omen is more troubled than he usually is.
"You find something new. You find someone new. You do something new." Cypher spoke with measured pauses. He gripped Omen's shoulder a little tighter before letting go to lean closer to his face. After staring into Omen, he continued to impart his words.
"Get out of your damn head and look at me. Please. I'm right here, right in front of you."

Summary
Omen has wanted answers for as long as he can remember. At first, he wanted to know little things. What did he used do in his free time? Why is the sky blue? How can Sage revive people? Then he wanted to know bigger things, like who he was, why he was here at all, and what was the point of fighting?
And finally, when he never received answers, he grew frustrated. And so, Omen did what he did best, and he hurt someone.
Cypher doesn't intend to die by Omen, but he doesn't want to kill Omen, either. No one does, when Viper is trying so hard to protect someone for once in her life. Cypher is good at compromise. He is, however, not so good at catching onto Omen's obsession with him until he's too far in to back out.
And there is a bitter taste of rust in his mouth that he cannot ignore when he thinks too hard about any of it.
