“Vash?” Nicholas’ voice calls out from further in the apartment, “I’m home.”
“Mmmh,” Vash groans out, unable to muster any words. He rubs his eyes with the back of his clean hand. Leaning against the door frame to the bedroom is his mate. His black tank top is snug around his torso, riding up just enough to give Vash a pleasant view of black, curly hair around the waistband of his pants. Vash can’t help letting out a small trill at the sight. The scent alone is comforting. Nicholas’ sun-kissed skin smells of sweat and oil.

Summary
It's no longer a secret that vampires live amongst the people of No Man's Land. Vash does his best to keep humans safe from his kind but reuniting with his brother after so many years apart brings a different hurdle he's not anticipating.
Even as his consciousness begins to fade, he still manages to hear footsteps growing louder over the rain. Shoes that look far too expensive stop in front of him. He can barely make out that the person crouches with his wavering vision. A hand brushes the bangs from his face. Why is he not afraid? He knows he should but something about the gentleness of the stranger puts him at ease. He wishes he had the strength to lean into the touch.
“My dear brother,” the person says, “did you have your fun?”
Vash doesn’t recognize the voice? It sounds distant. He should recognize it, shouldn’t he? He blinks slowly, trying to lift his head up. He blinks again. His vision isn’t getting any clearer. The next time he closes his eyes, they’re too heavy to open again, and exhaustion takes him under with a shaky exhale.

A thumb runs across Vash’s bottom lip, pulling it down slightly. Their mouths come together in another gentle kiss. “No, Vash, she murdered me.”

“Y-you can’t keep me here. Please, I have to go-“ A hand to his throat silences Vash immediately. It squeezes, fingers cupping under his jaw to tilt his head further back to meet the monster’s gaze.
Nai continues to inch closer. Their cheeks touch, lips so close to his ear that Vash feels the dark chuckle reverberating in his head. “I don’t think you realize the situation you’re in. I paid for you. You’re mine.”

Summary
After one mistake too many, Hunter is forced to flee his home before the consequences of his actions can catch up to him. Now, he has no choice but to carve out a new place for himself amongst the very people he was raised to look down upon- as well as the dangerous creatures which they allow to walk so freely through their streets. He has his orders: lie low until the dust settles, offer whatever aid he can which might assist the growing rebellion he's only recently discovered, and, for the love of Titan, do NOT get caught. (He isn't fool enough to believe Belos would show any traitors mercy, even when said criminal is his own and only nephew.)
However, a new town inevitably offers him new opportunities, whether he's willing to receive them or not. He'll just have to do as he always does, and make the best of it. And in the interim, maybe he might even find the things he didn't know he needed...

Taking off his shades to make sure he was seeing things correctly, the object didn’t disappear, a bright glow coming off of it signifying that the unusual thing was a Curio, “That’s pretty disgusting.”
About to shrug it off, the Curio disintegrated from his grip just a few moments after picking it up. Before he could process it, a similar transparent screen to the one Stelle managed appeared right in front of him, making Aventurine jump back.
[ERROR CODE CURIO OBTAINED: A Leviathan’s Gift - Arousal and Voracity: Aquisitor is afflicted with status effect Insatiable Hunger. Status effect is incurable unless this Curio is destroyed by meeting certain requirements.]

There are many lessons to be learned from experiencing the Simulated Universe on Herta Space Station, to not touch suspicious Curios was one lesson Aventurine learned a little bit too late. A seasoned professor, Ratio steps in to educate him, not only in a few more lessons, but also in the realization that maybe he could allow himself to be vulnerable within another's hold.
