It's not not the Omegaverse, but for bees: the Apiary Genders are sci-fi worldbuilding around an imaginary gender role system. It is separate from sexual characteristics and may be transmissible between individuals under the right circumstances, resulting in either interpersonal relationship-centric stories or the equivalent to gender body horror, as suits the author's interests. Aliens can give you a new gender. On accident. (Unless you're into that and go looking, ig.)
Inside is a presentation on the low-down on how Apiary Genders are meant to operate, the gender roles themselves, and a little academic musing on why gender and xenogender fantasies are interesting to explore in the first place. There are presentation slides available (undescribed) and plaintext of the presentation meant to be screen reader accessible. This system was a group effort from the Dicks to Watch Out For groupchat, so there are occasional Batman/DC references used as examples both here and in the proof of concept fic.
tldr; alien bees may trans your gender. Let's discuss.
