Summary
Every time you think the pain in your heart has reached its limit, and you can't take anymore, you stop feeling anything at all. This happened to Eddie Diaz when, through the fault of his own, he was left alone for a long and difficult summer. He was sure everything would return to normal soon, but even after everything got back on track, he remained in the shadows of his loneliness.
Diana, a young woman who happened to be at three 118 calls one day and provided first aid, should not have played a significant role in Eddie's life, but she accidentally filled the void left by Buck, who had become immersed in a new relationship. Neither of them realized how far things could go.
Buck could consider himself the happiest man on the planet. He had everything he needed to be happy: a loving relationship that he cherished every moment of. However, something prevented him from shouting with confidence about how happy he felt. This was until the day he found out he was going to be a father. At that moment, he was ready to proclaim himself the happiest person in the world, but still didn't quite feel like it.
or, the Incident that led to Buck becoming a father and Eddie realizing his feelings for his best friend.

Summary
He sat on the couch, with his tongue between his teeth, literally biting his tongue. Because well, every part of Buck—down to the molecular level—wanted to convince him to stay. Beg, or bargain. Ask Eddie to take Buck with him. Hide in his suitcase. Cry, maybe, or throw the tablet at the wall, break every other electronic in the house.
But that would be selfish. And really weird.
Eddie goes to El Paso. Buck moves into his house. He'll come back, right?

Summary
The thing is: Eddie hasn’t had to think about dating at all - not until his mother called to remind him how thirty-something-and-single he is right before Christmas. It hasn’t crossed his mind much, it hasn’t interested him whatsoever. He’s having too much fun hanging out with Buck all the time.
So no, he hasn’t considered dating men. Not really. He gets the idea and then he runs from it. Somehow, he always manages to run straight into Buck. The irony is not lost on him.

Summary
“Eddie,” He says again, pulling back to look at Eddie’s eyes, trying to see if he’s there, if he’s doing this for real. “You’re–”
Concussed. Bleeding. Scaring me.
“Buck,” Eddie begs, fingernails digging into Buck’s shoulders, eyes wide and imploring. “Thought I wasn’t going to make it. Thought I was going to die before I got to, please–”
Eddie doesn’t ask. He never asks. He’s asking now.
OR
Eddie has a close call at work that ends with both of them bleeding and desperate for each other in more ways than one.
