He drags out the please, sir, like a petulant, whining child, and Capitano can see genuine earnestness as he shifts forward on his feet. There’s no deception in it. No seduction. Just raw, unfiltered desperation—which makes it all the sweeter.
“…Very well,” Capitano says, reclining slightly. “Do not blame me for what results.”
