She shuts her eyes and takes a deep breath. It's that scent again. Citrusy cedar that seems to be invading her husband’s natural musk these past months fills her olfactory. She feels nauseous and tries to pull away from his grip.
“Nagi I need to put out the candle let me go” she pleads to him but he hugs her tighter burying her deeper into his body.
“Shh Reo it’ll die out on its own”
She stops her struggle and rests her eyes. holding her breath she hopes she does so too.

“It’s me,” says Shidou, “I’m here for my shit,” and then, because Rin doesn’t answer, “you told me to come?”
Rin still doesn’t deign to respond, but he buzzes him up. Shidou is seething. This, he promises himself, is the last goddamn straw. He’s a human being, for god’s sake, not Itoshi Rin’s chew toy. He is not letting him and his crazy demon magic anywhere near his penis. Today, he chooses dignity.
Shidou didn't exactly plan to start sleeping with Rin. He also didn't plan to catch feelings, but hey, here he is anyway. It sort of starts with a toothbrush.

Sae’s eyes seem to glow in the night. Rin feels the stall of air in his throat, trapped there. Surprise is clear on his face, all over his features.
He wasn’t expecting Sae.
Everyone’s usually asleep around this time. Rin remembers, before Sae left, when everything was the way it used to be, Sae was pretty strict about his sleep schedule. One hour off, thirty minutes off, he’d suffer. It’d make him irritable. Hard to be around.
Maybe Sae isn’t like that anymore. Maybe Sae sleeps whenever he wants to now.
Maybe.
On Christmas Eve, hours before the clock strikes 12, Sae and Rin reconcile. Or something.
