Grantaire, also known as R, is a line cook who spends a couple of nights a week performing at a shitty gay dive bar as the larger-than-life Anya Knees. He likes cheap wine, boxing, and low-budget horror movies.
Enjolras is a meticulous bespoke designer who has made a name for himself creating androgynous, vintage-inspired clothing. He likes his gaggle of friends, local politics, and unexpectedly, the drag performer Anya Knees.
When Enjolras asks to design costumes for Grantaire, the two struggle to maintain a professional relationship and end up tangled in each other's lives.

Summary
Steve finds a stack of cassette tapes abandoned in Family Video for a Californian band called "Corroded Coffin." He listens and begins to write letters to the band like a personal journal, and eventually sends anonymous nudes when he realizes that no one is answering, so he can write whatever he wants. Eddie gets kicked out of dad's house when he catches him with a guy and makes a trip across the country to Indiana, where he knows Uncle Wayne will take him in. He doesn't know what to think about the letters he's been receiving. Meanwhile, Billy has just moved to California after his dad found him with a certain metalhead. The three are quickly entangled in a confusing mess and discover that maybe they've been looking for each other the whole time.

Eliot and Margo own a music venue / club together called "High Profile." They book the best bands in the area, and due to a cancellation, booked "Unauthorized Panic" last minute. Kady's on vocals, Quentin's on bass, Penny's on guitar and Josh is on the drums. It's just a great gig their manager Alice booked them, until Quentin meets Eliot-- the gorgeous owner, and he's suddenly very glad that he chose a life of music over finishing his philosophy degree.

I’m rapidly coming to the realization that I don’t like fighting anyone other than Tyler. I’m putting words to what used to be an abstract string pull in my gut, telling me that what I’m doing isn’t really what I think I’m doing. This isn’t about the thrill of the scuffle, the catharsis I am experiencing is simply a watered down, repackaged dupe of the real deal. I am seeking a blow to my cheek that leaves me reeling so hard my body has no choice but to conjure up tears. There is a butterfly light thrill that shoots up my spine when Tyler twists his torso under mine and forces me off my feet with his entire body weight.
These are dwindling highs. I need a higher dose every time, and there’s only so many ways to make lingering, full body contact as we try to beat each other into the floor. Fighting Tyler is losing its zeal, and I have no interest in any of the other idiots who crowd the basement every Saturday night.
