Summary
“Good luck, my love,” was all she heard before Lena felt them pull away, leaving her inside the filthy bathroom stall they just made out in.
As she took quick even breaths to steady her racing heart, she followed suit, looking as well put together as she was before she entered the stall.
Now standing in front of a mirror, acting as nonchalant as she could be, she turned on the faucet and started to wash her hands, eyeing the woman two sinks away from her peripheral vision. Lena’s eyes met with startling blue, the color almost entirely swallowed by pupils dark with lust.
Lena smirked as she turned off the faucet and dried her hands. She reapplied her lipstick and made a show of swaying her hips tantalizingly as she walked out of the bathroom, feeling the heated gaze of those blue eyes that follow her figure with want.

Sundays are for the girls.
Ava hears that once, passing some brunch place on her way home with a fresh loaf of bread in hand, sure steps heading back to their apartment where she’s hoping to convince Bea they don’t have to keep putting off Ava’s dream of a homemade bread bowl.
Okay, maybe what she hears is Saturdays are for the boys and maybe it’s from a bunch of guys with biceps the size of their heads. But she likes it enough to remember it as she strolls the rest of the way home so she can tell Beatrice.

Summary
“Don’t forget the fortune cookies,” she says unnecessarily.
Bea is already carrying them over, having freed them from their plastic prisons. She hides them in her hand and moves her hands behind her back. Ava sees the muscles of her biceps flex as she moves them from hand to hand, mixing them up.
Ava pokes her tongue out of her mouth and squints. After a second, she points to the right hand. Bea hands her the fortune cookie she’s holding and sits back down, cradling her own fortune cookie.
Ava doesn’t wait for any kind of ceremony. She breaks her fortune cookie in half and pulls the fortune out, putting it facedown. She eats one half of the cookie first, for luck. Her mom always did it and Ava doesn’t remember a lot, but she remembers that most of mom’s fortunes came true, so it must have worked.

Summary
Beatrice gives an interview in which she reveals that one of the songs from her latest album is about her best friend, Ava. It just so happens that this song includes a love confession, and Beatrice’s interview answer makes it very clear that yes, she is in love with her best friend. Ava gets to learn this for the first time when she reads the interview, and Beatrice gets to deal with the consequences.

Beatrice remembers when she first asked her. Remembers that the question came in the middle of Ava chewing down her breakfast and looking up at her through the crumbs. Like she'd been thinking of this for a while. "Bea, I think I got an idea that will make the audience go wild.”
Beatrice then only looked at Ava over the rim of her cup, an eyebrow raised as if to say go on.
