In Xenokunian tradition, hair has always been used as a measure of honor, especially once they take on the duty of eliminating the scourge of Records Corruption. Warriors with long, flowing hair aren't that uncommon to see, a silky curtain that signifies their oath to protect and deadly mastery of their weapons.
When Hakka saw Shinri emerge from isolation to help them fight one of the offshoots of Corruption, he saw a man broken by his past, left hand an azure reminder of the enemy's hold on him, beard casting a dark shadow on his face—and his hair chopped off in messy, tangled chunks. He looked like the shell of a man who only became lucid long enough to help them.
Hakka couldn't just stand there and do nothing about it. Not when he’s been through the same thing. Not when Shinri is one of them now.

Summary
The grass is lush, the sky is infinite, and the Corrupted are running amok, terrorizing everyone in their path.
The guild establish themselves as bounty hunters in early 1900's America, navigating life in Elysium, brothers in arms ready to protect their people from any threat that comes their way. When one of them finds out about four missing people in town under circumstances that defy logic, the guild spirals down into solving the mystery of the Corruption, doing their sworn duty to the best of their abilities.
However, the longer they go on this journey, they soon realize that the Corruption may be the least of their worries as their friendship is tested by secrets, horrors of the unknown, and the dawning realization that some men will stop at nothing to play god.
