Written for the TGCF Reverse Bang 2024
“What the fuck.” Feng Xin whispered, awe and dread combining to form a lodestone that dropped into his stomach. “Are you a demon? How did you get into my house?”
The winged being frowned at him, thin lips turning downward into a scowl. Not that it made him look any less attractive, nor any less like he was conjured straight out of Feng Xin’s wet dreams.
"You dare compare me to a demon? Me? You’d think you would recognise a guardian angel when you saw one.”
Feng Xin has never lived by himself before. But how hard could it be? Very hard, as it turns out.
After nearly setting fire to his flat, a creature presents itself before him. One so lovely that Feng Xin's brain-to-mouth filter stops working altogether. He accidentally accuses Mu Qing of being a demon, when he is in fact, Feng Xin’s guardian angel.
Mu Qing is, naturally, not very happy about this.

The words barely registered before a weight crashed down onto Mu Qing’s sleeping form. He jolted awake, his bleary eyes catching sight of Feng Xin’s grinning face above him. The apartment was supposed to be empty after his mother left for work. However, he woke just in time to see Feng Xin’s ass drop on him again.
"Wake up! Wake up!" Feng Xin’s loud demands were punctuated by his obnoxious bouncing on Mu Qing’s chest. “First day of summer! Time for the waterpark!”
OR: The waterpark story where Mu Qing realizes he's in love with Feng Xin after seeing him shoot out of a waterslide at thirty miles an hour, completely naked.

Mu Qing couldn't remember when he started being the Grim Reaper. He couldn't even remember being human, if he was even one from the beginning. All his life, if you can even call it that, he had been reaping the souls of dying humans with the kiss of Death. Weird, right? Contrary to popular belief, he did not carry a scythe. Instead, he would lean down and kiss his victims, ending their lives and taking their souls with him. It was an unconventional method, but it worked for reasons unknown.
He dreaded the role of Death, but he had no regrets about being the Grim Reaper, especially after meeting such an interesting human named Feng Xin.
In which Death falls in love with a human who doesn't want to live.

Summary
Mu Qing’s biggest fear was the moment Feng Xin brought up Christmas: the time of year he hates most of all. Being surrounded by constant reminders of how everyone has a better life than him is just unfair, and it tears him apart until he eventually breaks. But Feng Xin is… well, Feng Xin, and convinces him to at least give him a chance at making better Christmas memories.
… The day is alright, okay? (It’s a great day, but Mu Qing doesn’t want to admit that, obviously.)
