It's not the worst plan; his parents probably wouldn't know a functional, loving relationship if it tap danced down the corridor between their separate bedrooms so they're not likely to see through it if he was committed to the bit, but, "Ok, but the only people I know except you and Nancy aren't old enough to drink yet."
Robin tilts her head to the other side, winces really hard and he knows, he knows what she's about to suggest.
He's on his feet in a second, all but marching into the little kitchenette. "No. No, no, absolutely not, no."

Summary
He calls Eddie, closes his eyes against the cold metal of the boombox and still feels his face heat up when he hears Eddie’s gravelly voice on the other end.
“Hello?”
“Munson, are you a fan of Slayer?”
There’s a moment and then that genuine laughter. The one that’s a little higher pitched than the low teasing one he puts on. “You called me at midnight to ask me about thrash metal? You’re lucky my uncle works nights.”
And maybe the music has shaken a few screws loose in Steve’s head because he grins and says, “You not allowed to talk to boys after dark?”
