Which, given how even after almost 10 years he still had no clue what happened to him, was quite the truth.She pressed her hand on top of his. "And you became a detective to find out what happened to him?” Porchay nodded and he could see her gearing up, about to invite him to the back alley when his phone rang. She pulled back.

“I’m off the fucking duty,” he snapped into the phone, mentally cursing Atid for calling. “Whatever it is, it could not have been more important than the girl who was about to get me laid.”Atid sighed at the other end. His partner merely informed, “It’s the singer. He got into another scrape.”
Porchay muttered several obscenities. “Tell P'Kim to not move from where he is.”
...
Porsche never came back to Chay. Chay goes to various lengths to find him. Kim has to decide how much is he willing to let Chay in.

Chay wasn’t stupid by any means. He knew his shop wasn’t located in the best part of town, knew to keep his eyes down and walk fast late at nights, and most definitely knew to run the opposite direction at the sight of a gun. He knew he should not let a stranger covered in blood into his shop.
Or: Chay helps Kim out one night when he gets himself in trouble, they both suffer some insta-attraction and when troubles follows Chay around, Kim comes to help him out, but ends up baking cookies.
