I hold such deep love for this fic. An excellent navigation of what it means to hide and limit yourself and the impact it has. There is immense care in how Kim is portrayed. Kim is never cruel or unfair in regards to Precinct 41, yet his base assumptions are no longer accurate. He is still hiding for very legitimate reasons (particularly since this is a cop space), but he is learning to find and build a space for himself with those that show good will. He is learning to be happy instead of just surviving.
I also love the way Harry and Kim have very different conversations with each other at the same time. The way they are both very different people navigating the world is clear and that disconnect involves elements that feels like stretching a stiff and underused limb. They are not the same, but they are open and willing to always try with each other. Just a lovely story.

Hurt, hungry, and on the run, the Winter Soldier doesn’t have a lot of safe options to go to for help. Figuring that any friend of Captain Steve Rogers is unlikely to be HYDRA, Bucky takes a chance and reaches out to the first Avenger he can find.
It works out better than anyone could have expected. Eventually.
