Dream has been so careful around her. She’s not far, doesn’t think she could be with the way her eyes seem to be tied to her shoulders, where her tail brushes and curls around her own waist in the mornings, her messy hair. But she’s not getting closer. It’s annoying, because Georgie can tell she wants it, and Georgie wants it too, and neither of them are stepping over that stupid line that all of the sudden appears.
Dream stares at her, and Georgie wonders the merits of being brave.

Summary
He could see George's teeth – his perfect front teeth, like little iridescent seashells pressed to his gums – working at his lip. Not biting it, not the harsh mean pressure Dream had put on himself a million times, just rubbing against it. It felt the same way that it did when George clutched his hands together. A safety thing. And Dream thought back to scraggly hoodie strings lit by New Years fireworks.
Dream had never been good at moving from place A to place B. It always felt awkward and stilted and like he was two seconds from tripping over his own feet. Maybe that’s why he and George had been stumbling over what their relationship was becoming for months now. But asking George if he wanted Dream to put his fingers in his mouth only felt like the next natural step, he supposed.

“Julia’s sister is getting married on Friday.” Dream briefly tried to remember who Julia was before the image of his sister’s fiance flashed onto the surface of his eyes. “We fly out tomorrow, and our nanny just canceled on us. Can you watch Charlie?”
Charlie, being his nephew. Like, a year and a half or so; a cute kid from the pictures his mother sent him sometimes. Dream had met him once, when he was still tiny and did nothing but sleep and cry. He probably, like, was a little wild now. Probably put things in his mouth. Dream thought, momentarily, of all of the tiny, swallowable objects littering their home. "Like, here?"
"No, you can come here. Bring George, too; I don't care. I just don't want to have to book another flight."
