The portals are tech. After the final battle, the Chain goes their separate ways. Fortunately, Wild and Flora are very smart and manage to unravel some of the tech. Hypothetical ending where everyone is as happy as possible! (Not all of them go home unscathed. Some have lasting injuries. Dark Link never wanted to be evil. Really, all he wanted was to sleep. But now he‘s stuck being alive, and keeps getting mind controlled and killed all over again.
Until he meets Wild.Wild is the second coming of the Hero. Link died a hundred years ago, from the shrine came Wild. He takes up the mantle of the Hero, and has to deal with the all that entails.
