Going through the Stargate to a new world seems like a dream come true - or, perhaps, a nightmare.
Dr. Sheldon Cooper is not a fan of change - but when he finds out one of his genes - a rare gene most members of the expedition don't have - has the capability of activating and operating alien technology, he can't resist signing up - but he's not so sure he can go through with his commitment - and step through the stargate into another world.
Dr. Carson Beckett doesn't want to go. Going to Atlantis will require him to go through the Stargate - and there's nothing he wants to do less than than. He's needed on the team - not just because he's a medical doctor, but because he possesses a gene he wishes he didn't have, and never heard of. But maybe it's not too late to back out.
Dr. Rodney McKay can hardly wait to step through the gate into a new world - even if that means he'll have to work with people who are genetically endowed with capabilities he doesn't have. But he's going to make sure the one person who might be able to give him that gene is coming, too.
