    “Sam.” Dean still hasn’t opened his eyes but Sam can see the exhaustion of which Dean speaks in every line, the set of his shoulders. “You don’t get it. But that’s oka... tha’s okay.” His words slur, slowing, and his eyelids flutter.

    “Well, explain it to me, Dean!” Sam cries, desperate. Dean makes a sound, but no words come, and Sam prepares for the slide of every single second of the next fourteen minutes over his already frayed nerves.
