    The orphanage in Keramzin has been denied more and more funding ever since Alina Starkova took over as Directrisa. In a last ditch effort for help, she writes to the Darkling, General Kirigan, who runs the Second Army.

    When Aleksander Morozov receives her letter, he’s intrigued-- intrigued enough to make a detour to Keramzin to meet her. He immediately recognizes her symptoms of wasting sickness and tests to see what kind of Grisha she is. He isn't expecting her to be the Sun Summoner, or to find himself so immediately infatuated with her.

    Fic is completed and will update Mondays and Thursdays, ~4pm PST until it’s done.

    Such a beautiful piece of work and so incredibly tender. The grasp of POV and voice here is immaculate, and I love the way that Alina and Aleksander’s emotions have been captured so perfectly in words. Makes my heart ache in a good way.

    This is so cute and lovely! I adore how much they all care for each other and how it’s shown throughout the fic. Mal being perceptive and knowing to take the attention while Alina stubbornly roots to the You Will Have Fun mission is so amazing. I love them all so much! Beautiful writing and such a fun fic.

    Queer and compelling and with such good characterization that reading this fic has become addictive. I adore how the characters have translated into a modern college universe. Alina’s passions and struggles feel very real and Aleksander’s own actions and interests are so accurate to his character. I love how soft but complex everything is. I *adore* how intricate the relationships are.
