Summary
As a masked killer preys upon the first responders of Los Angeles, Buck and Eddie are forced to reevaluate their feelings for each other amid the chaos.
-
It was someone with broad shoulders, dressed in dark pants and a dark jacket. They were wearing what looked like a black mask, and a black hood that covered most of their face. The person didn’t make a sound as they tightened their grip on the ax, pulling it from the shattered remains of the Jeep’s back window and sending shards of glass down onto the ground below. Buck was frozen in place as he watched the person standing over him, their chest rising and falling as they hefted the ax over their head.

Summary
And Eddie doesn't mean to— actually do it.
He’s thought about doing it, on like, more than one occasion, sure.
But thinking about something and actually doing it are two vastly different things.
Besides, he does not consider himself a violent person— at least not anymore. Handling his anger by working it out in the ring, that's not him anymore.
So he doesn't actually mean to do it.
But Tommy — god awful man-child Tommy Kinard, who has never once shown any interest or enthusiasm in the two months he's been with Buck — just called Buck childish.
And— well.
Eddie can't even describe the absolute rage that fills him from head to toe at hearing that come out of the other man's mouth.
He also doesn't miss the way the hurt flashes across Buck's face.
So, yeah, he doesn't consider himself a violent person by any means.
Still, he punches Tommy square in the fucking nose.

Summary
They’re a moment captured inside of a snowglobe - a freezeframe of the beautiful life that they’ve built together.
The air between them feels warm despite the uncharacteristically cold temperature outside, almost like something is crackling between them. A red hot livewire going from Buck’s chest, right into Eddie’s. And this moment, here - the way that Eddie is looking at him right now - surely, surely Buck isn’t imagining this? It’s too real. Too honest. He can see the flush on Eddie’s cheeks and the way his pupils have dilated, and he can feel the way Eddie’s usually steady hand trembles where it’s resting on Buck’s chest.
Buck has a pretty good imagination, but never in his wildest fantasies could he have dreamed up the way that Eddie is looking at him right now.
(Or, three times they kiss beneath the mistletoe, and one time they don't need it.)
