Summary
GP met Max when he was nothing but a scrawny eighteen-year-old with a dream and a pedigree worthy of multiple championships.
He had this aura of confidence about him, even as he was about to join such a prestigious team as Red Bull. It had fascinated GP to no end.
GP met Max when he was eighteen, and at the end of their first weekend together, he knew him as a race winner.
That weekend was also the first time he heard the name Charles Leclerc.

Summary
They’d been hopeful, before Miami. Hopeful enough that a podium was practically expected, from at least one of them.
And it had almost been reality for Oscar, before a near shunt and a pitstop—fucking Carlos—had Oscar stuck in P19.
He’d begrudgingly accepted P13 and the fastest lap point. Because Lando had won. He’d won. Trumped Max Verstappen, or whatever Crofty had said as Lando took the flag.

Summary
In a futile attempt to stay awake, he glanced over at Lando, who was sitting across from him, and leaned over to read something on one of the screens while nodding along.
Lando had looked up at whoever was talking—Jake, maybe?—and something had to be wrong with Oscar, because the first thought he had was ‘Lando would look great on his knees’.
He felt his cheeks heat up, yet still not being able to divert his attention away from Lando, who, with his bright eyes and his full eyelashes—that he surely must curl—paired with an attentive smile, had suddenly made Oscar’s day so much more interesting.

’Dear 2025 Formula One Driver, we hereby introduce collaborative flying.’
The header had Max frowning down at his phone.
What the fuck.
And— No. Absolutely not. Nuh uh.

Summary
Max had stared it innocently enough, as if he were testing the waters. He’d sneak in a slightly condescending comment about Carlos or whisper about how badly the team needed to replace Mattia.
Checo found it a little unusual—how much Max seemed to care about how Ferrari were doing, considering the lack of performance from the team that year.
The Scuderia was the least of their concerns, so why did Max bother to keep up with seemingly every decision they made and with every article posted?
or; max's facination with his childhood rival

Summary
There's an itch between his shoulder blades when Buck talks about Tommy, when Buck asks Eddie if he wants to join the two of them for a drink after work, when Buck smiles at a text message and Eddie knows it's from Tommy. His stomach had been twisted in knots for half of Maddie and Chim's wedding, watching the two of them.
There's only one awful, inevitable conclusion: Eddie isn't actually as comfortable with Buck's coming out as he thought he was. Which is, frankly, unacceptable.

Summary
But going alone is like—it’s a death knell. And Buck is trying, he really is, but it’s Halloween. You can’t break up with someone on Halloween.
He spies Eddie walking up the stairs, totally focused on his phone. Eddie, who is also planless for the weekend barring some natural disaster or miracle of the prodigal son returning home. Eddie, who had gleefully been the Tubbs to Buck’s Crockett—because Buck is totally Crockett, okay?—without complaint. Eddie, who likes dressing up for Halloween.
or: Buck wants to do a couples’ costume, and Tommy doesn’t want to do it. Eddie volunteers.

Summary
“Someone you’ve had a long history racing, someone you’ve had a much-talked-about rivalry with, someone who is one of the most beloved drivers in the paddock and well known for being the best at PR?” She raises her eyebrows but Max still doesn’t get it.
“Someone you were fighting for a title last year?”
“Oh,” Max nods. Then reality slams into him in full force, “You mean Charles?”
or; Max Verstappen needs to improve his image. Charles Leclerc, perfect PR paddock princess, can help him with that. These childhood competitors were never meant to be just rivals.

Summary
“I made a list,” he says, digging in the pocket of his jacket and producing a wrinkled piece of paper. “I figured if you could see all the reasons why we shouldn’t date, it’d be easier for you to understand.”
Buck raises a brow, unimpressed, and holds out his hand. “Let me see it.”
