Summary

The cloak is just sliding off his shoulders when his terminal starts buzzing with an incoming call. The caller ID hovering on top of it in a bluish tint that did nothing to hide the piercing quality of those eyes.
Calcharo.
Aalto takes the call with a beep.
“Your friendly neighbourhood information broker, at your serv— !““Are you not asleep yet?”
The tiredness that had been encroaching upon his mind is chased away by the spark of excitement that had appeared upon hearing that gravelly voice. Not a direct “I need information.” or “I’m looking to buy."
Rather, a query into his well being that meant another sort of business was on the table.

Aalto and Calcharo have a working relationship. Or at least, a relationship that works. A mutually beneficial partnership that lets Calcharo get rid of some pent up energy and Aalto would be paid handsomely in information.
Everything was fine, and Aalto wouldn't change a thing. That is, if his heart would listen to him.

He sits on the roof, sweating, and thinks about Phoenix Wright. The stubbornest man he's ever met, and the best. If he's honest, yes, it is largely Phoenix Wright's fault that he ran away, not because of shame, but because being on the receiving end of that constant, bullheaded, endless trust had felt like being cared for in a way that nobody had ever cared for Miles. It had felt good. Better than Miles had any right to feel.
Hence the guilt trip, pun very much intended.
