Summary
An experiment gone wrong causes a lab to blow up, to not lose his job as a researcher at the University of Piltover, Viktor is forced to be a teacher as a disciplinary action. His former partner and now rival, Jayce, is constantly on his tail because of the accident as they argue about the ethics of each other's work. It takes their involvement with the young couple of inventors, Ekko and Jinx, for them to realize that their fight was meaningless.
tldr: Jayce and Viktor are "divorced" academics and make it everyone's problem, it takes them seeing their younger selves in Jinx and Ekko to realize they are actually in love with each other.

I’ll have to admit when I saw James/Scorpius I was intrigued, because I’m usually quite into scorbus, but I thought i’d give it a try and i’m so grateful I did. This was absolutely insane. I binged the entire fic in about a day and I don’t think i’ve ever felt that many emotions in such a short span of time. Something about this author’s writing never fails to make me emotional. Midway I realised that they were the same author that wrote Running on Air which is a fic that left such a lasting impression on me a few years ago and I wasn’t surprised that they managed to evoke these many feelings out of me again. This is so beautiful and i’m going to miss Scorpius and James so much. Honestly, I think this has ruined next gen fics for me I’m so obsessed.
