Summary
He can recognize the shape of their brow now that he knows his own. Their eyes may belong to a stranger, but he can see the way their jaw will fill out with time, too. It's not exactly the same. There'll be differences--clear ones, even other than the horns, and the tail. But still--
At the very least, they would pass as brothers to most. The realisation hits Dan Heng like a punch to the stomach.

Summary
In some universes, Blade was never created, or Dan Heng was never born, or both did and were destined for a bitter chase for eternity.
In this universe, Blade was dragged from the clutches of death right before the Imbibitor Lunae's public sentencing and execution. What follows is a love story worthy of any teahouse, with one lover chasing death, and the other chasing eternity.
It's hard to say if their story began with that one incident, or if it ended that day. Either way, they would run hand in hand into the future, and straight into Destiny's Slave.
