Summary
Being the field medic to the 141 task force was not all it had been cracked up to be. When you first joined almost two years ago, you were introduced with the hope of helping keep the team on their feet in the field. You were given the call sign Apollo and sent along with the group whenever they needed you. You had saved the members several times over and earned their trust. They treated you as a friend and comrade, some even calling you family.
Though there was one member you wished would consider you more than that. That member being one Lieutenant Ghost.

It felt like he couldn’t breathe.
Karl had been running for what seemed like hours. His lungs were fit to burst- burning which each inhale, haggard and shaky. It was late. Really late; almost as a testament to this was the fact that the streets were absolutely fucking deserted. Of all nights for no one to be around- not a bum or cop in sight- it had to be tonight. The whole “city that never sleeps” thing was a load of shit apparently.

He was about to give up, maybe call into the void for her again despite the fact it would probably fall on deaf ears, when he heard a giggle from behind him. Immediately, his shoulders slumped in relief. She was fine. His wife was fine. Just trying to give him a heart attack.
“You panic yourself far too much, my love, I just… needed to prepare myself in coming here.” Came Kristen’s familiar voice, causing Phil to close his eyes and smile before turning around to look at her. There was a slight hesitation when she spoke, but he didn’t worry too much about it.
“Well, when my wife wants me to hurry so badly that she summoned me back from my travels halfway across the world and won’t even let me sleep, pardon myself for being-”
Phil’s words came to a sudden halt in his mouth when he looked at her. Properly looked at her. The relieved smile on his face fell into one of shock. He was frozen where he stood for the moment.
As for today, he was too busy staring at the two bundles she was holding carefully against her chest.
