Mirabel couldn't be more proud of the progress her kookie Tio has been able to achieve in such a short amount of time!
However... the magic is not quite through with her yet. Something Mirabel learns first hand when, just as the Miracle returns and Casita springs back to life, she finds herself inexplicably thrust 50 years into the past.

Satoru knows that it’s a stupid question. He can think of a million and one reasons why he would be the one ripped from his home. Kenjaku smiles anyway. Wider. He pushes down on Satoru’s forehead.
“Because you are a monster, Gojou Satoru-kun. Our job is to control monsters.” He leans closer. “And to find out what it is that makes you tick.”
“I’m–“ Satoru’s eyes are wide. He thrashes again. “I’m not a–“
“You are not allowed out of this.” Kenjaku continues. “No matter how hard you struggle, you will never escape us. Cooperate, and it will be bearable. Continue to struggle, and I cannot promise you even that.” The man’s smile drops.

The Biolizard couldn’t speak, not in a traditional way. It was still just a dumb lizard. However, it was somewhat sentient. Somewhat. To communicate, it could create a link with a fellow user of chaos energy and from there it would be able to share its extremely simplistic thoughts and feelings.Shadow was the only one around it could share its thoughts with. So it did.
Little Shadow- that's what the creature had named him. The hybrid wasn’t sure the reason behind it, whether it be his size compared to the lizard or whether it saw him as something of a younger sibling.
As if on cue, he heard an intrusion in his thoughts as the lizard formed a link.
“Little Shadow.”
