“I’m not sure what that’s supposed to mean,” Simon responds, trying and failing to keep the edge out of his voice.
“It’s okay, Si. I like it.” As if that were the problem. He looks so fond, so foolish. “You can relax. You seem really strung out”—he puts up a hand as Simon starts to protest—“I know you don’t want to talk about it. It’s okay. It’ll be okay. I promise.”
Simon leans down and smiles at him. “Aren’t you, like, not supposed to make promises you can’t keep?”
After a harrowing encounter with a wraith from his past, Simon uses his devoted knight to regain some semblance of control.

“Dumb girl,” Knight remarks in that annoying, know-it-all tone of his.
“Hypocrites shouldn’t speak,” you spit back at him.
Edgeworth and Kay give each other uneasy looks.
“I’d like you to leave now,” you say. To all three of them, really.
In prison, you try to learn to live again. It’s difficult with your dead friend always in your ear.

“Kaveh!” Alhaitham yells over the sound of the slaughter. “Leave this to me. Go and cleanse the Irminsul.”
Kaveh pretends not to hear him over the din.
“You can feel it too, can’t you? It’s withering.”
Kaveh shakes his head and chokes down his sob. “I won’t leave you.”
“You have to go, or the people of Teyvat will succumb to the forbidden knowledge within hours. My life is not more important than theirs. Will you doom them to be buried in the sand for me? Can you weigh a hundred thousand souls against one? Even the scales of the God of Justice are not so imbalanced.”
“I won’t leave you,” he repeats, more adamant this time.

If he stretched while yawning and accidentally revealed a peek of midriff, Alhaitham would be overcome with the urge to kiss him there until he begged for mercy.

The same deceptively lithe figure, just a bit more filled out and visible due to his choice in clothing. The same bright red eyes, now widening in surprise as they meet his own—
The same voice, though more mature with age, and yet no less indignant as Al-Haitham remembers, when that man eventually demands, “What is going on here???”
After secretly attending Kaveh’s graduation ceremony, Al-Haitham got involved in a ley line incident that sent him to an unlikely future where he is not only on speaking terms but also lives with Kaveh in the same house. It all feels so unreal that Al-Haitham wonders if this future is real or of it's merely a figment of his wishful thinking.
