  2. Summary

"Perhaps it is the greatest grief, after all, to be left behind when another is gone."

How silly it seems, now, that Achilles had dared to disregard the great centaur’s message; now when his entire world lays crumpled at his feet from a blow meant for him.

    Summary

“I was involved the moment we became partners!” Jayce snaps, ferocious, imploding in on himself. “Do you not understand that!? You can only talk about your death so easily because it’s not you witnessing it!”

His voice howls through the lab like a wounded animal. “You weren’t breathing, Viktor! Do you get that? You were dead! My best friend, taken from me in less than a minute from something I came out of unscathed!

“I don’t care if you think that I’m selfish! I don’t care if you think it’s not fair! How on Runeterra could you ask me not to help you!?”

Jayce brings the Hexcore to Viktor's body, and through their fusion, Viktor survives. Affection holds them together for just a little while longer.

    Summary

"Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor Viktor-
Smoking clouds of ash drifted past, but the glowing violet of their Hextech was what caught his eye first. The rest followed.
Viktor. The limp sprawl of his body. Viktor. Draped across the broken monuments of the council table as if he was a ragdoll that had been dropped and abandoned there.
Viktor. His loosely open palms, splayed out and unmoving. Viktor. The jut of his throat, and the way it left his head tilted, uncomfortable. Like he could have fallen asleep on their sofa in the lab, with some work in his lap- leaning his head back to rest for just a second- left for Jayce to wander in himself and have the hilariously wonderful delight of catching his partner during a nap. Summary

Perhaps that’s why, once the bullet had hit, crunched and crucified its target, Chuuya reached out and pressed a finger into the rim of Dazai’s gunshot wound.

    Just like that, it’s over.

    Summary

Chuuya couldn't dream. Dreaming was a privilege that only humans were granted. Gods didn't dream. Neither did their vessels. So. Chuuya couldn't dream. And yet. When Chuuya went to bed that night he saw something. It was the worst thing in the world. It was him an Dazai. Snippets of moments between the two of them. Always the two of them. Like they were never apart. But it wasn't like how it was now. Chuuya was not Dazai's bodyguard. Wasn't his right hand. It was the two of them. But it may as well have been strangers. They were unrecognisable. Chuuya was unrecognisable to himself. His eyes weren't hollow and dark as they were now. He was expressive. Like he used to be. Wasn't a mere pawn. Wasn't a tool. He was more. Not a full person, he couldn't be. But not as haunted as he was now. And Dazai. Dazai was worse. He was better. If this was what dreaming was, Chuuya never wanted it again.
