It has been years since the defeat of Bill Cipher. Years have passed while he remains, stuck in the stone prison he curated himself. The Pines' were successful in defeating him, he was gone for good.
Until he wasn't. With time comes plotting, and years upon years is plenty of time to determine the next plan of action. The events of Weirdmageddon was a fluke, but this time, this time he would get what he wanted. Unluckily for you, you get caught up in his plan all too quickly. Plea and beg as you might, spew vile things all you want, Bill's resolve does not crumble, and he will do anything to get back what he lost. His mocking laughter will haunt your sleep, any fleeting thoughts of peace gone within an instant.
You got him out of his prison, it would be rude for you to leave without a helping hand.

Aventurine is well traveled. The IPC sends him far and wide to suit their needs. A backwater planet comes to mind, some place with a low grade and a high debt. The hotel he’d stayed at was the best he could find, built of bricks and covered with ivy that crept close enough to his window that opening it would disturb the vines.
The owner of the hotel had workers trimming back the plant, and he’d overheard him griping to said workers that the ivy was a nuisance and grew back thicker each year, no matter how often it was pruned.
Loneliness is like that, he thinks.
