Summary
After the fall, the world divided into three lands. In the North is Rah, the Holy City, where the divine Children of the Light live. Healers and warriors blessed with the magic of the heavens. No one but their descendants have seen inside the city, for only those of light can enter. In the South is Nubik, the land of demons and the Children of the Damned. Cursed with the magic blood of demons, the leaders of Rah saw them as wretched and sent them to the hot southern borders to be closer to hell where they came from. They left the eastern and western lands to the Nulls. Caught in-between the light and the dark, they posses no magic abilities and are no match for any conquers. The Children of the Damned and their descendants have taken over much of the Nulls land and the King now threatens the hundred years of peace by rage war against the Divine.
Can there be peace in a world already divided? Is there a place for the broken in the light? And what makes someone wretched or divine?
Author note: I’m really bad at summaries so try not to let my failure sway you too much.

Alec has been told the same stories all his life. He's been taught the same lines, over and over again. Downworlders are reckless, impulsive, demonic. They're not to be trusted.
And Magnus Bane is the epitome of everything evil about Downworlders.
At least, that's what people keep telling him. Alec's not quite so sure anymore.
