My father told me that as the daughter of the house, it was my duty to show hospitality to my guests and to be gracious to them. I wanted to make him proud. So for three weeks, I let my cousin follow me around and talk to me about spiders.”

I usually don"t read Ender"s Game fic - it rarely feels like anyone gets the *feel* of the book right. This fic *absolutely* gets the feel right, and it is heartbreaking and wonderful. It takes the trauma that was hinted at in the book and just... pulls it out and shows it to the readers.
