Summary
We can call this a fix-it fic, but it’s really more a collection of all the human emotion that was wiped from that 'What If...?" episode. Bucky lives. Steve lives. Okoye lives. Everything else is the same except the hurt actually hurts and that novel idea of comfort exists. I also like to think that, as a zombie, Steve was just constantly following Bucky around.

In the days that come next, there is a quiet pain that passes between them. Unspoken, but heavy. T’Challa smiles as his way, but there’s something there now, a burden on the spirit. T’Challa with his vibranium leg and Bucky with his vibranium arm.
A matched set.
A vibranium shield is there too.

Summary

It figures that he would start to hallucinate but why would he hallucinate an enemy? Given a choice of survival, he takes it in a heartbeat but at what cost? In the end, it doesn't matter, because all he cares about is revenge. Can they work out their differences or will it all come crashing down around them?
