Summary

He's so caught up in his own head that he doesn't even realize Edwin's come back until he says, "Charles?"
Popped back in through the wall, probably. He's been out at the shops, looking to replace all that stationery Charles ruined.
Charles can't bring himself to answer. He sort of thinks his voice'll give him away if he does: tight and wet and watery, like he's not far off from crying. He wonders if he's got time to phase right through the bookshelves and hide in them before Edwin sees he's here.
But no, too late, cause Edwin's saying, "What on Earth are you doing sitting on the floor?"

Fingon rakes his eyes up and down his gangly figure and the shine of red in his hair, his sharp jaw, and fine cheekbones. “Lucky guess.”
