Summary
"Come on, let's make some little changes."
---
The sun is up when Dean opens his eyes; for years and years, the skilled hunter inside of him had this habit of chasing the sunrise. Driving as fast as possible toward the next case, his little brother in the seat next to him and more often than not, an angel on the bench behind them.
It takes time to unpack four decades of habits- more than Dean could’ve imagined, actually.
But now though… Now is a bit of a different story.

What if after all is said and done, the Empty never takes Castiel away, and now all that's left for the Angel of the Lord is to face the music?
What if all that's left after beating Chuck is a whole world of opportunities, and nothing on the horizon to stop them?
What if after all is said and done, Dean and Cas settle in a relationship they both thought was out of their reach, never mind how much they both craved it?
The soft ending they deserved, and even more so: Freedom.
But it's never that simple... is it?

Summary
It’s 2001. Dean Winchester is a detective within the Intelligence Unit of the Chicago Police Department. Bon Jovi’s “It’s My Life” is on every radio of the country, the Cubs haven't won the World Series in almost a century, and Georges W. Bush just got elected President of the United States. Dean has been dating Cas, his high school sweetheart, for almost ten years and together they raise a daughter, Claire, who’s about to turn 1.
Life, all things considered, is good.
It’s 2021. Dean Winchester wakes up from 20 years in a coma after taking a bullet into the head on a case gone wrong. 9/11 happened almost 20 years ago, the world is on fire, the Cubs won the World Series five years ago, and Bon Jovi put out 6 albums since “It’s my Life”. Dean’s baby daughter just turned 21, his brother married an incredible woman and has two kids he doesn’t know, and his boyfriend... Well, Cas is still by his side, but there’s stuff he’s keeping from Dean.
Of course, this would be enough to fill Dean’s plate if he didn’t also have to figure out who put a bullet into his head, 20 years back.

Summary
There’s no point in mincing words. Sam is dead, and without him Dean is a drunken shell of who he used to be. When he finally pulls himself out of a growing pile of whiskey bottles, Dean finds it hard to go back to his life. With one flippant comment from a friend, Dean thinks he might finally have a way to make peace with the loss; Sam was an organ donor, and Dean’s going to find the recipients, talk to them, and see how their lives are better because of his little brother. For the first six stops on his road trip, things go mostly according to plan, and then he meets the man who has Sam’s heart. Dean had hoped he might find peace on this trip… he never expected to find love.

Summary
Cas looks even more tired than Dean feels. His eyes are red and the bags under them are more prominent than ever. His hair is a hot mess, reminding Dean of the time when Cas was still able to take off any second with just a flick of his wings. The cut on his neck is covered with a white bandage now and he wears different clothes, a gray sweatpants and a black shirt with a hole on the collar, that Dean recognizes as one of his. It makes him look different. It makes him look soft.
Dean likes it a lot.
---
Cas is back and that is great. Except that it worries Dean how much Cas struggles to adjust to humanity, haunted by nightmares and memories every night. So it's just a gesture of their friendship, despite Castiel's feelings for him, when Dean offers Cas to stay with him at night.

Summary
Divorce - who doesn’t dread one? Unfortunately, it sometimes happens, leaving ex-partners to deal with the bitter aftermath.
Luckily for them, Dean and Castiel - very much divorced and quite happy with their now separate lives - left it all behind a few years ago. Everything would be great if they could just continue ignoring each other instead of dealing with a quite substantial inheritance that everyone seemed to be interested in. Well, everyone except for Cas and Dean, who would rather be sent to outer space than spend another five minutes in the same room.
Lost in the world of awkward discussions, a great deal of tension and many misunderstandings, they both just want to survive until the end of this situation.
Little do they know, fate has a completely different idea for both of them!
