There is more to life on an Imperial Star Destroyer than bringing order to the Galaxy. Such as watching holo dramas and worrying about Chimaera's performance in the Fleet Games. Or, in Faro's case, being a highly competitive gamer, ruthlessly taking out all that come before her. When a new player starts interfering with her in-game sectors, she is annoyed and mildly amused. But she soon notices that the newbie might have potential and decides to take him under her wing...
Some of the characters here are inspired by @Cathouse_mary's fantastic depiction of them in her many fics where she narrates their shenanigans. Thrawn was run down and on edge, which made Faro jumpy and grouchy, and the trickle down continued on from there, hitting Hammerly and Pyrondi and all the rest, though they didn’t send Eli looks demanding he intervene somehow when Thrawn’s back (and Faro’s in the case of the latter two) was turned.
Or: Eli takes his work family to Sunbelt City for Solstice Week because they need a vacation, whether they (Thrawn) like(s) it or not.

There was snow on the Chimaera’s bridge.
Thrawn blinked. His vision swam, and he felt horribly nauseous. It took a moment for his vision to clear and the nausea to subside to a bearable degree.
The snow was still there.
...Strange.
He looked up and noticed small flakes slowly drift down to the deck from behind him. The bridge seemed brighter than usual, with beams of light from the main viewport support structure cutting wedged shadows across the aft of the bridge.
That… wasn’t right.
