“You know that you’re allowed to want things for yourself too, right?” Dongsik turns so that they’re facing one another. The shitty wind-up lamp has died, his strong features illuminated by moonlight alone. Joowon thinks that Dongsik is especially beautiful like this. “So you fucked up— I’ve fucked up plenty too, Joowon-ah. Should I stop living too, just like you are?”
“Haven’t you?” Joowon counters. He’s voicing insecurities buried so deep that he only realises their presence once they’re spoken. “You’re here with me instead of living.”
Over countless meetings, Joowon and Dongsik find refuge in each other.
