“It did help, right?” Louis asked on the fourth night after they came back, when they were seated nicely on the settee in their cozy living room, after a binge session of one of the Netflix romantic series. The atmosphere was rather fluffy; dim warm lights of sconces surrounded them in almost a magic glow, and a fireplace was giving them much desired warmth even despite New Orleans’ usual high temperature during the fall. Louis decided that there wouldn’t be a better moment to bite a bullet and finally confront Lestat. “Talking to Daniel, I mean. You’ve spent quite some time together.”
Lestat didn’t answer for a while, suddenly rubbing his temple and nervously nestling on the couch. When he couldn’t pretend to be busy any longer, he bent and folded one leg under his thigh and sat upright, facing Louis properly. He looked sad and broken.
“Daniel has certain… abilities that I very much appreciate.” He started deliberately, carefully choosing his words. "You know it from your experience. I’ve learned it when he helped me with my biography.”Or
Louis helps Lestat get back to his normal self after Akasha's short-lived attempt to rule the world.
