Sousuke sounds a touch breathless. “It’s… really nice to see you.” He gives Rin a once-over and underneath Rin’s clothes, chills follow wherever that attentive gaze lingers. “You look good.”
“Thanks.” Rin takes the opportunity to give him a slower appraisal and wonders if his stare also feels like starfire beneath skin. “So do you.”
“You think so?” Sousuke lowers his head playfully, his five o’clock shadow darkening. The bits of silver in his hair catch in the light.
Rin looks into his eyes. “Yes.”

“Where?” Takina whispers to herself beneath the rush of the shower at Chisato’s old safehouse, scalding water a cascade over her back save for where a patch of gauze rests over her left shoulder. “Where are you, Chisato?”

Ryuuji fully awakened, his consciousness slamming back into his body like he’d been abruptly shaken from a nightmare as the fog around the memory cleared and he understood the full gravity of what he’d just done.
Without any preamble or buildup whatsoever, Ryuuji had kissed Rin— planted one on him, stolen his first kiss (did it count as a first kiss if it was on the cheek? It certainly did to Ryuuji), and then left him sitting there without any sort of explanation.
Ryuuji had royally fucked up. How was he supposed to face Rin for class now?
