Summary
Caitlyn Kiramman’s life isn’t exactly on track. She’s barely scraping by in a shop that specialises in tacky holiday decor, her overbearing mother won’t stop calling to remind her of how well her brother’s doing (not that he’s actually happy, but that’s beside the point), and her last romantic escapade ended with her half-naked, kicked out, and feeling distinctly un-merry. All Caitlyn wants is to finally get her big break and make a life for herself away from her past.
Instead, she finds herself very homeless, sucked right back into the chaos of her family’s expectations again, working a dead-end job in a horrifyingly ugly elf costume, and inexplicably distracted by a woman with an irritatingly perfect laugh and a knack for turning up at all the wrong moments, who makes her feel like she could be meant for more than her string of misadventures and anxious-avoidant attachment tactics.
If only life weren’t so determined to throw her into every possible disaster and make her personal life too complicated to even take a breather. Some people want Christmas miracles. Cait? She just wants a bloody break.
